We have to build a curling rink like field of dreams baseball diamonds each year out of sweat and hard work.
Imagine, 160 curling rocks and handles have to be assembled, 10 sheets of curling ice has to be measured and taped, painted, flooded and hacks put in. Score boards have to be transported and registration collected. We have a lot of experienced people that could use extra help setting up and disassembling.
For our hard working volunteers, a pre-event volunteer brunch is organized to meet everyone and a post-event party to celebrate everyone’s hard work and the success of the event.

Join Our Organizing Committee
As a committee we meet once a month from September to December (4 times), and twice in January as we get closer to the event start date. After the event we meet two more times, one week after the event while things are still fresh and finally in April to wrap-up the event and kick-start the next one. Our meetings are usually about 2 hours long and include pizza and drinks to snack on.
In between these meeting we each take on tasks to help plan the event. Each member brings their own skills and experience to the organization which is what makes our event so great. Depending on where your skills lie, or how much time you have available, you could be on one or multiple sub-committees throughout the year.

Note: If you have any older curling equipment available that you are no longer using, or other equipment necessary for us to build and run our event (i.e. trailers, flooding equipment, generator/lighting equipment, etc), and you would be willing to donate or lend that equipment to us, please also contact us so we can discuss what you have available that we may be looking for and what timeline it would be available for. This will help us reduce our costs of putting on our event due to rental fees and therefore help to raise more funds for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
